Guild Ranks and Promotions

Horn and Hoof Academy has only six ranks, 'cuz we like to keep things simple and easy. They're cleverly named to represent the hierarchy of a college or university, but not that cleverly.

Promotions and demotions are only performed by the faculty (i.e., the Dean or a Professor). The criteria for promotion are pretty fluid, although we generally promote a player from Prospective Student to Freshman when they have increased their character by five levels since joining and have been in the guild for at least two weeks.

Being demoted can occur when a player is deemed to be violating the Code of Conduct.

Dean
This is the Guild Leader. This player has all of the privileges available. There is only one Guild Leader at a time.

Professor
Professors have the same privileges as the Dean, except they cannot dissolve the Guild, and cannot change the settings on the Guild Bank. These are founding members of the guild, and share in its management and upkeep.

Grad Student

Grad Students are trusted members of the guild who have full access to the guild bank, can invite new members, and can listen in on officer chat speak. They can also modify the Message of the Day (MOTD).

Undergraduate
Undergraduates are full members of the guild. In addition to the privileges accorded Freshmen, they have deposit/withdrawal access to some parts of the guild bank and can withdraw gold from the guild bank.

Freshman
Freshman have full access to the Guild Chat channel. They also can use Guild Bank funds for repairs. Freshman can only view the contents of the Guild Bank tabs, and must ask a faculty member (Dean or Professor) about any items in which they are interested. Freshman are allowed to deposit items in the Guild Bank (this definitely improves your rep within the guild!).

Prospective Student

These are new guild members, or members who are on probation. Prospective Students do not have Guild Bank Access, and they can only listen on the Guild Chat channel.

Available privileges are: guild chat listen, guild chat speak, officer chat listen, officer chat speak, promote, demote, invite member, remove member, set MOTD, edit public note, view officer note, edit officer note, and modify guild info.
